Student Leadership - The Hyderabad Public School Kadapa

House System

Our students are grouped into four houses, each named after a renowned historical university or empire that reflects a rich legacy of knowledge and values:

  • NalandaThe Blue House
  • NagarjunaThe Red House
  • TaxilaThe Green House
  • VijayanagaraThe Yellow House

Each house is led by a dedicated House Master/Mistress and supported by House Captains (Boys and Girls). Regular inter-house competitions in academics, sports, and cultural events foster teamwork, healthy competition, and school spirit.

Prefectorial System: Student Leadership

Student leadership is one of our proudest traditions. Through the Prefectorial System, students are selected as leaders based on academic excellence, integrity, communication skills, and leadership potential.

These student leaders play a vital role in shaping the school’s culture by:

  • Promoting responsibility and discipline
  • Acting as a bridge between students, teachers, and administration
  • Supporting their peers and addressing student concerns
  • Leading by example and encouraging positive behavior
  • Fostering teamwork, cooperation, and school unity
  • Enhancing teacher-student relationships
  • Inspiring others as role models for future leadership

Duties of Prefects

Our prefects are entrusted with key responsibilities, including:

  • Enforcing school rules and maintaining discipline
  • Leading school events and daily assemblies
  • Supporting students and encouraging school values
  • Representing student concerns respectfully
  • Remaining alert, approachable, and accountable at all times
